BORN ON THE BAYOU

I have a little dream one day to live on the bayou.
I suppose I would be that crazy old bat living in the broken down
plantation home.
People on the mainland would talk about "Poor Lonely Miss Henke
lived and died with her 20 cats".
Children would most likely start an urban legend about how
I was a witch or something.
*sigh*

In reality that is terribly invalid.
I always feel the need to fix anything that ages and
I am highly allergic to cats.
I simply love the style of historic home and
I am fascinated with the deep south.

I have always believed that bringing indoor furniture to the outdoors
is a divine trend.

And that every house in the south (Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama..)
should indeed have a greenhouse.

Oh and of course anything vintage :)

All in all, I don't want to be cooped up in some creepy old mansion.
I would like to live in "that grand southern manor" that
everyone admires. Maybe I will call it after the family name...
Perhaps the "Van Buren or Winchester Manor"
;)

INSPIRATION: FUR

I first would like to apologize for my blogging absence.
This past month has been CrAzY!
I would secondly like to comment on how much I love fur!
The texture of a new Fox sweater is simply divine.
Tis the season!

RECAP ON MY LAST MONTH

Ok so I formally apologize for not posting lately, it was been an
INSANE month.
I have been so busy preparing myself for the college
application process. It's quite intriguing trying to find a distinct major
that benefits my skills. I'd like to find a college that has polo as well as
find a school with a program that can utilize my creativity.
So I have narrowed it down to 4 schools... University of Connecticut,
Cornell University, University of Virginia and Texas A&M.
Not only are these AMAZING schools they also are have the four best polo
teams in the country... CrAzY.

So I recently took a road trip from Minneapolis down to Texas (yes... it
was indeed a daunting trip). I'm afraid I didn't look as fabulous as this fine lady ^,
but it was a very educational trip. I learned quite a bit about the schools down
there. I am now located in Sarasota, FL.
It's about time I take a break ...  (but not really).
Happy Thanksgiving!
HAVE A NICE BREAK.

FELIZ DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

Feliz Dia de los muertos!

Though I am not from Mexico, I find this to be one
of the most beautiful holidays in the world

The colors are so vibrant and the tradition is touching

I wish I was in Mexico at the moment, so
that I could experience the festivities of praising the dead!
Enjoy!

INSPIRATION: PEWTER

Tis the season of Pewter!
Though you don't typically see this color during this season
I thought it would be fun to post about ;)
This dim malicious color gets me in the mood
for halloween!
I call Pewter, Silver's evil twin

(HAUNT)INGLY BEAUTIFUL

Well due to the fact that it is the best
month ever, I felt like posting about what could
be known as old "creepy" decor and fashion.

I was recently inspired by the show "American Horror Story"

Everything about that show is creepy and disturbing yet
beautiful.

Many of these images remind me of my aunt and uncle's home
It's basically this big house filled with old paintings,
vintage portraits, ancient artifacts and chipped mirrors.

To me, the unsaturated photographs represent a
tainted love.

Getting ready for halloween!
More spooky fashionable posts to come :)
Enjoy

The Opposite House Lobby

Outdoor Patio

Another fun part of the Lobby

Restaurant.

If you are going to Beijing and want to stay at a hip contemporary
hotel...  I highly suggest The Opposite House.
The first time I saw these pics I thought it was computer generated!
I love the little winks of color throughout the entire hotel!
Enjoy!
